There’s nothing like a piece of nostalgia (especially on bright summer Friday) to stir up old memories of why you do the things you do today. I like most have very fond memories of classic games from back in the day that brought more to the table with limited budgets and resources than we do today, and still the devs managed to produce lengthy engaging games that become instant classics. A couple of my favourite PC games series of all time was encapsulated by story, adventure and intrigue; Quest for Glory and Fallout, I do believe we have to be reacquainted once again.
Enough about me, here’s the real story – Chris Remo of Gamasutra recently interviewed Good Old Games‘ Adam Oldakowski on the effects of selling PC classics today.[Read the article]

Yes nostalgia can be expensive sometimes! I just bought Prince of Persia Classic on PSN in the vain hope that they took the original 2d art brought it to my HD TV… no luck, they re-made it in 3d and did a nice 2.5D camera on it. It plays like the old one well enough, but I miss that old-school 2d artwork, that games like POP on the Mac and OddWorld on Windows had… love 3D but it really shouldn’t be used everywhere.
Now should I buy and download Gauntlet on PSN in the hope it is still 2D (but hi-res)…?
Cheers.
Oh yes, it definitely can be expensive, that’s why I’m looking forward to Good Old Games to expand
As for the 3D remake issue, it’s not all bad, look at Bionic Commando
